Learner’s Permit Help Days

Recognising the number of people who are currently driving without a licence in the northern suburbs, the Youth Leadership Group has decided to open the Edmund Rice Centre in order to help people from the community obtain their learners permit. The Leaders will up-skill themselves in road safety education prior to the help days, and then be on hand at the Edmund Rice Centre to help attendees by explaining the road rules and helping with the computer practice tests. At this stage, the event is set for November, running across a number of Saturdays. We would appreciate any help in this project.

Learner’s Level 1 Coaching

The Youth Leaders will be undertaking a Level 1 coaching course. We would like to focus this on injury prevention and management. The broader aim is to up-skill the Leaders in coaching so that they can serve the community by providing sports sessions for youth. At present, this is already being done but with the new Level 1 qualification, the Leaders will be able to improve their abilities to inspire other young people to play and love sport.
